About Emigration Canyon
Emigration Canyon is a metro township in the foothills immediately east of Salt Lake City, following the historic route traveled by Mormon pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Roughly 1,600 residents call the canyon home. Housing stock blends custom-built mountain homes on larger lots, select historic cabins, and a small number of newer luxury residences. Emigration Canyon Road and Foothill Drive provide access to downtown Salt Lake City, the University of Utah, and I-80 — the canyon's tree-lined corridor anchors a distinctive identity unlike anywhere else in the valley.
